Starring Autumn Borrelli
Scenario: A woman emerges from a bomb shelter into a ruined world and transforms over time into animalistic wild woman barely dressed in tattered rags, the sole surviving human.
THE SURVIVOR:
Autumn a tough female adventurer who has hidden from a cataclysm in a bomb shelter/bunker. She has an air of being prepared and capable. Her outfit is a simple version of Fallout style work clothes: a plain blue button up shirt and a pair of khaki trousers. She wears a pair of hiking shoes and socks. Her hair is in a tight ponytail or bun and she has a set of goggles and leather gloves.
“War. War never changes. It has been over 2 years since the warnings of Great Cataclysm went out over the airwaves. People said it was THE END OF THE WORLD. They said the only way to survive was to hide in a shelter and wait it out. But you can’t hide forever…”
Emergence Day
Autumn enters, armed with a HAMMER wearing her GOGGLES, walking cautiously on alert. She pulls up her goggles and surveys her surroundings. She sighs dejectedly and begins to speak into her wrist mounted recorder.
“Personal log #2. Well- it’s as I feared: everything is gone. Since I left the Vault, I have encountered nothing but endless wasteland. Every building has been destroyed and I see absolutely zero signs of civilization. No signs of human life at all. I’m… concerned that I may be the last woman alive on the entire planet. But I can’t let those kinds of thoughts creep in. My number one priority is survival. All the supplies in my Vault have been exhausted so I must search the wastelands for anything I can use.”
She stoops and rummages through the rubble.
“It’s slim pickings so far, but it’s not hopeless. There ARE signs of life, although not what I was hoping to find. I have encountered some wild animals that survived the cataclysm, so there must be food and water available somewhere. The animals seem aggressive, but luckily, I found this hammer that I can use to protect myself! It may just be a matter of time until I find other survivors waiting in their own vaults or shelters. I just need to stay alive until I find them. I just hope my clothes hold out until then!”
She smiles grimly and puts a determined look on her face, then stalks offscreen.
Barely Surviving
Autumn enters, crawling on her hands and knees, breathing heavily and struggling forward. She looks haggard and worse for wear. Skin is dirty and her hair hangs loose, unkempt and tangled. Her feet are dirty and bare- no shoes or socks at all. Gloves and goggles are gone as well. Clothes are now heavily shredded, very tattered and dirty. Slacks are completely tattered almost to her waist- her legs are bare through the long torn ribbons. Her shirt is equally tattered- her midriff exposed through tattered ribbons. The sleeves are tattered and torn. Her breasts are partially exposed through her shredded shirt. She is almost half naked in her shredded rags.
Autumn continues to crawl forward into the center of the scene, then she collapses and cries out. “Water! Water! Food! Clothing! Please help!” She slowly gathers herself and pushes herself to her knees. Looks around forlornly. She touches her wristwatch and begins speaking.
“Personal log number… I don’t know. 100? 200? What does it matter? Feels like I have been crawling through this wasteland for decades! I don’t know how much longer I can survive like this. I feel like I’m becoming one of those animals- no longer human. Look at what I have become! I’m filthy! Starving! Practically naked, barely dressed in rags!”
She grabs one of her dirty bare feet.
“I’m barefoot! I ate one of my shoes to keep alive and lost the other to one of those wild dogs. I don’t even have my hammer anymore. And I’m completely alone! The last woman on earth! A barefoot, ragged woman dying of thirst and hunger! This is what the human race has come to. GOD! I’m losing my mind. Might as well become an animal. Just become a mindless wild woman…”
Suddenly, she spots the CANTEEN and CAN lying on the ground.
“FOOD! WATER!” Excitedly, she quickly crawls to the CANTEEN and CAN and grabs them. She guzzles the (imaginary) water in the canteen and then eats the (imaginary) food left in the can. She smiles, satiated, and then frowns as she looks around at the empty wasteland.
“I’m still all alone. For the rest of my life! A mad, lone wild woman going crazy in a dead world.” She sighs and then crawls offscreen
Savage Woman
Autumn enters, but something is very different. She crawls into the scene on all fours, not desperately but instead seductively and slowly, like a jungle animal. She looks completely savage: her tangled mess of hair looks almost like a lion’s mane, and her filthy body is nearly naked. Only a few tatters remain of her shirt, fully exposing her breasts. What little remains of her pants are tied around her waist like a shredded mini skirt. Her appearance has changed, but it’s not the only thing that has changed: she seems less human and more like a wild animal. Her eyes dart around, searching for danger, and soon lock onto the CAN in the rubble. She crawls forward purposefully and grabs the can, crouching in a defensive position.
We hear the GROWL OF A DOG- a stray animal trying to take her find. She stairs the (unseen) animal down with animal lust in her eyes and growls back. She suddenly lunges forward and barks back.
“MINE!!” She SNARLS and we hear the dog whimper and run off. Autumn happily eats the food and then wipes her mouth clean. She then spots a puddle of water and crawls over to it. She drinks from it like a jungle cat. When she has had her fill, she slinks to the middle of the frame and sits on the ground casually. She sighs.
“Lonely.” She sits looking a bit sad and lets her mind wander. As she does, she begins slowly fondling her dirty near naked body through her skimpy rags. A lustful look begins to fill her eyes and she bites her lip seductively.
“Need people. Need friend. Need… TOUCH.” She rises to her knees, caressing herself, clearly in need of human contact. She acts like a savage animal, unable to keep her hands off herself.
“No more alone! Need people! NEED SEX!” As she begins to shout, we hear a SOUND offscreen of rubble or trash being moved.
Autumn freezes, and crouches like a jungle cat, eyes darting around for the source. After a moment, she hears a VOICE
VOICE (Offscreen) “Hello? Hello? Is anyone out there? Please! Please answer me! I am all alone! Are you there?”
Autumn’s eyes go wide in astonishment. A wicked smile grows on her face and she rises to all fours. “People! Not alone! SEX!!” She roars with delight and quickly runs/crawls offscreen towards the unseen VOICE, not the last person alive anymore.
