Bliss Dulce Electric Chair
Starring Bliss Dulce, Kobe Lee and Scott Torvea
In an alternative reality executions are common, and the medieval element of purification by pain is normal unless the condemned shows remorse by confessing to the crime, in which case they get a painless lethal injection.
A slow execution should last five minutes or so, but if the executioner screws up it can go longer. Consequently, much like the samurai of ancient Japan the condemned often ask a trusted friend to serve as their executioner. It is considered an honor, like being their best man or maid of honor.
Much like the samurai, the doomed prisoner’s only goal, and redemption is to bravely face their end.
They are expected to remain stoic until the execution starts, after that it’s not them that is kicking/screaming/struggling, it’s the rope or current.
For environmental reasons the condemned go to their execution and the following funeral nude, some exceptions are made for jewelry. A dead will return to the Earth and metals and gems came from it to begin with
Scene 1 cell
Bliss Dulce sits in a prison jumpsuit wearing a cross on a necklace waiting for her friend.
The guard escorts the friend in, she’s surprised. Bliss explains that she requested a private trial, she tried to hide her crime. She failed and she’s being electrocuted as soon as the preparations are made.
Kobe puts her arm around Bliss, tells her she’s sorry, then asks why she didn’t just confess. The injection is a much easier way to die.
Hanging her head, Bliss says she knows she was just scared. But she has one last chance to be brave.
The friend puts her arms around to comfort her, and tells Bliss that she doubts she’ll be able to confess when they find out what she’s done. She’s probably going to go out the same way (executions are very common).
Bliss says she has two favors to ask. Kobe replies that she’ll do anything she can.
She takes off the necklace and hands it to her friend asking her to put it back on her after the execution. She’s not allowed to wear metal while she’s being electrocuted.
Next she asks her friend to be her executioner, she tells her that electrocution won’t be a good way to die. But she wants someone she can trust to make it as easy on her as possible.
Kobe hugs her, accepts and promises to make it as easy on her as she can.
Prepping for Execution
Friend and the guard are there. Guard, I’ll strap her in and blindfold her, then you attach the head piece and leg contact.
Kobe: which leg do I connect to?
Guard: It doesn’t matter, just once she’s hooked up to the control panel and starts powering up the chair. Don’t wait for anything, just get it charging.
Kobe: why?
Guard: There’s a meter above the chair that goes from zero to ten. You want it over seven before you start a cycle of current and you should cut it when it drops below five, let it recharge. Anything less than five will burn but won’t kill. The higher the charge the faster this goes, got it?
Kobe: yeah
The execution
Kobe has changed clothes. Something more appropriate for her task.
Bliss is nude, and not restrained.
She hugs her friend then walks to the chair unaided and the guard straps her in.
Her friend pauses briefly and asks Bliss if she is ready. She nods and the executioner wires her up, then starts the charging process.
Bliss apologizes to the people she’s hurt, then asks the executioner to proceed.
The first of four cycles of current hit her, the first one wasn’t quite up to seven. The inmate is gasping to catch her breath after it. The next one is at the right current she jerks and goes ridge straining against the bonds.
The third cycle knocks her out, she goes limp when it stops, but the executioner finds a weak heartbeat. The guard checks and tells her to finish the inmate off, the forth jolt does it. The punished inmate is removed from the chair. The executioner replaces the necklace.
