Walk to the gallows
The inmate is led up the stairs to the gallows. She is stopped on the trap with the noose dangling inches from her face. The guard announces that the governor has offered mercy if she reveals the identity of her acomplesses. She responds without saying a word. She reaches out, takes the noose, and places it around her own neck.
The guard pinions her arms behind her back, then fastens a restraint around her thighs. He aligns the noose at the back of her neck, he pulls it tight, it is set halfway between her head and body. A short drop with a little slack.
She is blindfolded, the warrant is read. After a few tense moments the appointed hour is reached and the trap opens. She hits the end of the rope with a grunt, and for a moment she manages to resist the urge to struggle.
Reality hits
It takes mere moments of the rope biting into her throat to make her regret not turning on her friends, but it is too late now. She gasps for air and kicks desperate to ease the pressure on her windpipe. Ironically the harder she struggles the tighter the noose gets and the less air she can gasp/gruggle.
The noose has nearly collapsed her windpipe, she can barely make any noise, her tongue protrudes. Her struggles are weak and fading, her bladder voids, she has a final adrenaline rush, then her kicks turn to twitches and shakes.
End is near
At this point the condemned passes out, she twitching, no thought or control of her body.
