This is part 2. In part one Bliss showed Paige the basics of a general checkup. Part 1 is available on our TorveaFilms.com website as well.

Now it is Paige’s turn to do the check up on Bliss. Paige asks a few questions then starts by taking out the stethoscope. She listens to Bliss’s heart beat. Paige has to go under the breast in order to hear the heart beat.

Then she moves to her back and listens to her breathing. After several breaths be likes what she hears. Next she takes out the pen light. She shines the light in her eyes. One at a time she does a semi circle to check how her eyes react to the light.

Then Paige holds up the light and moves it in towards her nose. Watching how her eyes follow the light. Then slowly drawing the light back. So far everything looks good.

Next Paige picks up the otoscope to check Bliss’s ears. She inserts the ear speculum into the ear canal. Then she does the same to the other ear. After putting the otoscope back Paige stops and says she forgets what is next.

Bliss tells it to check the b-pressure. She also tells Paige that it’s fine if you get things out of order as long as you get them all. The order is really not that important. Paige picks up the sphygmomanometer or B-pressure cuff.

She wraps the cuff around Bliss’s arm and inflates the cuff. This stops the flow in the artery. She then slowly releases the pressure while listening for the Korotkoff sounds with a stethoscope. Once they can no longer be hear she notes the B-pressure. We can see this in the dial. She tries it a few times to get it right.

Paige then does a temperature check with an electronic thermometer. She finishes up thanking her and letting her know she will make her notes for the doctor.
