Staring Rachel Adams, Scott Torvea
Rachel is naked as she is lead into the room, she is told to kneel beside the the electric chair. The guard puts a blindfold over her eyes, stands her up and has her sit on the electric chair. Her face and body tense with the anticipation of what is to come next.
Scott methodically straps her naked body to the dark wooden chair. She starts to become agitated that it is taking so long, she has accepted her fate and is ready to get it over with. After all, she doesn’t want to be late for her own funeral. Scott continues to slowly strap her body in place. Her hands, feet, torso and arms are firmly secured. He puts a wet sponge on her head and secures the straps. The camera pans as she waits for the end to come.
Now the time has come, and the switch is turned on and the electric throws her body into a quivering frenzy. When the switch is turned off, she takes some deep breaths and says “missed me”. With that, the switch is flipped again. The electricity flows through her body again and when it stops she takes a few seconds to recover and mutters that she will be late for her own funeral. Again the switch is flipped and the electricity races through her once more.
Once it stops it takes her a little longer to recover and she sarcastically asks if that’s all they’ve got. Scott tells the executioner to double the current, to which she says in an exhausted voice, thank you. When the electricity comes this time it really packs a punch and her body tight and muscles tensed can not take it. This time when it stops, her body falls limp. She is gone.
As she is being unstrapped, the guard can be heard calling her name, telling her to wake up, she is suddenly wakened to find out it was all a dream. Frightened that her dream might come true, she asks the guard if they have enough power to make it quick. That is when he tells her there is a change of plans, she is getting lethal injection. She is told to strip and clean her body and change. Rachel slowly uses the sponge to wipe her body down. She seems almost in a daze as she cleans her body and dry’s the skin before redressing.
Rachel is led to the room where she will take her last breath. The Robe doesn’t stay closed very well and the heart monitor goes on to make sure the job gets done. She is asked if she has any last words. Her only response “I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn’t for those meddling kids”.
Once again, her body is strapped down, but this time to a gurney. The heart monitor is plugged in, her heartbeat gets faster as she is more and more nervous. She watches Scott turn on the drip. As the poison reaches her veins, she lets out a gasp, it’s not as painless as they had told her. Once it enters her blood stream she struggles with the pain as her body writhes. Her body can’t take it and her mouth starts to foam, her legs kick and her body starts to convulse until she finally falls limp. The heart monitor indicates she is gone.
